Os Gêmeos (Portuguese for “The Twins”) are identical twin brothers from São Paulo, Brazil. They started painting graffiti in 1987 and gradually became a major influence in the local scene, helping to define Brazil’s own style. Stylistically, Os Gêmeos are heavily influenced by the cryptic art of the São Paulo–based pixação graffiti movement as well as American hip-hop, which the twins grew up with in Brazil. The brothers have gained international fame, displaying their work in exhibitions in major cities in the U.S. and Europe, including Deitch Projects in New York and Tate Modern in London.

Machotaildrop is a highly visual and fantastical journey about an amateur skateboarder, Walter Rhum, who realizes his dream of turning pro and riding for the world's greatest skateboard company... Machotaildrop. Set in an anachronistic time and place, Machotaildrop is the greatest skateboard company of its day and the regal and grand sport of skateboarding has been thriving for many generations. Walter's journey serves as a window through which we discover the dark underbelly of what appears at first to be a benign skateboard company.Blair Stanley IMDB

Staalhemel (‘steel sky’) is an interactive installation with 80 steel segments suspended over the visitor’s head as he walks through the space. Tiny hammers tap rhythmic patterns on the steel plates, activated by the brainwaves of the visitor who wears a portable EEG scanner.

This responsive environment confronts the viewer with an acoustic representation of the electrical brain activities that govern his being at that very moment. All our mental and physiological processes are controlled by myriads of transitory circuits in an invisible, obscure place in the crown of our head. That intimate topography is mirrored in this sky of steel as hammers hit the plates in shifting rhythms and combinations, transforming parts of your consciousness into macroscopic dimensions.

This environment offers a walk through a sheltered space that is also the space of one’s own mind.

Objectified is a feature-length documentary about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them. It’s a look at the creativity at work behind everything from toothbrushes to tech gadgets. It’s about the designers who re-examine, re-evaluate and re-invent our manufactured environment on a daily basis. It’s about personal expression, identity, consumerism, and sustainability.

If there's anything XLR8R has in common with Pitchfork and Create Digital Music it's that we're all searching for music's future. Whether it be ear-catching trends, ground-breaking ideas, or just something we've never heard before, our collective editorial teams are hard at work to bring you what's next in sonic evolution. Keeping with our common goals, the three publications have joined forces along with TV network Syfy to curate a mix of taste-making tunes to accompany the launch of their brand-new series entitled Caprica. The 13-track compilation, called Music for Our Future, runs the gamut of futuristic genres through tracks from Lusine, The Field, Tyondai Braxton, Untold, Atlas Sound, and Hudson Mohawke, among others. Artists from all over the world will attempt to create an accurate representation of the world in 2010. The goal of the exhibition is to create a physical wall of photos that creates an alternate world of our lives in 2010.

In a nutshell: you. We're looking for people with different cultures, ethnicities, geographic locations, and lifestyles. This is for anyone. You do not have to consider yourself an "artist" to participate.

On the 9th of July, we will host an exhibition where at least one photo from each artist will be displayed. The walls of the gallery will be completely covered with the photos, creating a massive photographic installation.

How to participateParticipation is easy. All you need is a camera (digital or film). After you sign up to participate, you can start shooting immediately. In the end, you'll be sending us up to 24 4x6 inch prints of your photos

Awesome interactive projections in Auckland.

In this installation YesYesNo teamed up with The Church, Inside Out Productions and Electric Canvas to turn the Auckland Ferry Building into an interactive playground. Our job was to create an installation that would go beyond merely projection on buildings and allow viewers to become performers, by taking their body movements and amplifying them 5 stories tall.

We used 3 different types of interaction - body interaction on the two stages, hand interaction above a light table, and phone interaction with the tracking of waving phones. There were 6 scenes, cycled every hour for the public.

We had a great deal of fun making this, hope you enjoy it too.

Art & Copy is a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration. Directed by Doug Pray (SURFWISE, SCRATCH, HYPE!), it reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time -- people who've profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry. Exploding forth from advertising's "creative revolution" of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation: George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, Hal Riney and others featured in ART & COPY were responsible for "Just Do It," "I Love NY," "Where's the Beef?," "Got Milk," "Think Different," and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them. Visually interwoven with their stories, TV satellites are launched, billboards are erected, and the social and cultural impact of their ads are brought to light in this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion.

We Love Machines is a duo of two Swiss dudes from Bern, the capital of Switzerland. In Switzerland, people from Bern have the reputation of being slow. We Love Machines prove the opposite. Only founded in summer 2009, they have already produced lots of bagging tunes, as well as some high class remixes.

Timo and Daniel are no strangers to music. They both play in indie/shoegaze band Monorev. Meaning they are not just geeks fiddling around with their computers, they are real musicians (guitar / bass).
