Strange Hands @ Pacific Parc Amsterdam 07 July + The Happy Deamons

Strange Hands are back on tour and will stop in Amsterdam for a night of rock n roll @ the one and only kick ass Pacific Parc to present their fresh debut "Dead Flowers" out on Shit Music For Shit People and Azbin.

Full stream from the wonderful debut LP from Bordeaux's 60s psychedelic London based Strange Hands, after the 1st very successful EP "Dead Frozen Deer" on the Dutch label "A Fistful of Records" and intense tour all over Europe including our living room the highly anticipated debut from Lucas, Melvyn and Victor is out and my first impression is that recording was so well made that really captures the band super energetic nature. Really looking forward for another night of Audiopleasures with the support from the Amsterdamers garage rockers The Happy Demons

Fenster live @ Goethe-Institut Amsterdam 15 May 2012

Have tons of good memory's about this night, great band, building, wine, friends and it was relaxed, laid back, fresh and luckily not another boring vintage party that seems to be drowning Amsterdam out of reality, anyway we had all the good stuff that really matters in one go. Spotted the Berlin based chamber dark-pop trio Fenster on Subbacultcha's mail, the concert took place in a superb Baroque room with magical views to the front canal and back garden all served with really cheap and good wines at the Goethe-Institut. The concert was delayed because unfortunately the band got robbed of some of their possession while unloading their gear and that sucks big time. Despite this incident the band was motivated and they were absolutely tremendous, it looked like all the sunshine that seems to have disappeared from Amsterdam was now all inside that room, i never heard anything from the band until that day except for a two track EP but i was seriously blown away with their creative energies and also simplicity, Fenster is poetic, dreamy and just like a surreal theatrical play where you get dragged by its minimal but strong percussion rhythms surrounded by silky voices, echoes, melting bass lines and layers of gentle guitar. Fentser live is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and the band debut LP Bones is now out on Morr records and here you can STREAM the whole album cause is seriously cool.

Video : Lamb - Butterfly Effect

Was pretty blown way with this black and white video, its so stylish and yet so simple that on the beginning took it for a fashion clip, this wonderful piece of work was produced Revolver Media and directed by the Amsterdam based photographer Claudia Crobatia, "Butterfly Effect" is taken from the upcoming S/T EP by the British electronic duo and marks the return of Lamb after an eight-year absence.

A day in Amsterdam : The Anomalys "Retox" videoshoot, Regal live at House of Rising

Few weeks ago received a sick invitation from the Amsterdam garage punkers The Anomalys to be part of the videoshoot for "Retox" the upcoming EP on Slovenly, the video filming took place in Amsterdam's NDSM island at a little place that used to be a underground hangout with some quite peculiar surroundings and decoration, the best way to describe the place is some sort of naval bunker and the place was so tiny but we manage pretty fine ... it was complete sickness, 6 or 7 takes from "Retox" and each one getting wilder and crazier than the previous one and with lots of free booze to warm up the spirits cause it was sooooo freaking cold, the video is coming out if im not mistaken 13 March and i can't wait to see it !!!!!

After the Retoxing sick afternoon went to Miguels place to have dinner with some local friends and the French garage rock band Regal on transit to a concert at The House of Rising ... Miguel is soon to be my flatmate cause after 4 years in Haarlem im finally moving to Amsterdam on the 15 March .. whop whop whop ...

REGAL was a freaking blast, the sound was far from perfect and the voice was like at the end of the tunnel but like i said to the guys "This is not a symphony", they played really tight, fast and loud, they used the minimum resources and made it fun for everyone inside ... a real tribute to a garage rock concert ... well done boys :)

Mercie to the Stephane Serra from "L'apero Du Patron" best French delicatessen in Amsterdam and for helping put up the gig for Regal ... and Mercie also to the girls behind the bar all perfect too ... and for everybody that came on a freaking freazing night THANK YOU !!!!!!

Watch | Regal - Toi Toi

"Regal, French band formed in Lyon by ex members of Last Rapes of Mr Teach and current members of Le Pêcheur.
The four youngsters from Regal, who look like they just came out of a book by Jack Kerouac, play Garage music.
Their primal influences are definitely rooted in the sixties, Back From The Grave and Garage Punk Unknowns compilation series come to mind first, but Regal is far from being a Revival Garage band.
The guys have been listening to the Black Lips a lot, that's for sure, and two of the twelve tracks on this LP are nice Folk or Americana songs on which acoustic guitar meets Irish fiddle. Not really surprising when you know that Regal's main singer, Caelan O'Flaherty, also playing the guitar in the band, is of Irish origins.
Certain tracks on "Possible Endings" might lead us to fields freshly cultivated by bands like the Indian Wars but the four black sheeps from Regal still feast on that good old grass originally planted by the Seeds and then cultivated by the Black Lips or the Weakends (...and a sip of red wine!).
Twelve "home-recorded" tracks on a nice piece of wax, artwork by Antoine, Regal's drummer, and co-produced with AzBin Records, brand-new record label created by Xavier, the other guitar in the band (who was the drummer in Last Rapes)."

Videos : Amsterdam NYE houseparty w/ Strange Hands + Le Pecheur

Happy New year folks, hope you all add a good and safe arrival in 2012.

2011 was the sickest NYE party ever and the two French garage rock bands Strange Hands and Le Pecheur rocked big time and a lot of our friends that came to celebrate the ending of 2011 ... there was a special time when someone switched all the lights in the house and everybody was jumping to Le Pecheur and we could see the lights from the fire works coming from the curtains ... magical considering the fact that this all happened in a 2nd floor with no elevators with difficult neighbors and tiny stairs to carry all those freaking heavy amplifiers .
