Blade ‘The King of Graffiti’ @ ArTicks Gallery Amsterdam

"Starting at ArTicks Gallery with the exhibition of Blade's newest collection of artworks on canvas. Afterwards, at the 5-Elementz. In a TV Talk Show setting with host Kev Visser aka Dirk Richard Tinus and the king himself, Steven Ogburn, will discuss the 70’s NYC graffiti scene and the old ‘lines’ of the New York City Subway lines that he use to rule. '70s funk music provided by DJ Nekst. After an autograph signing and meeting opportunity, the last part of the trilogy will take place at Cafe Batavia 1920 where the king and subjects can feast on NYC style hotdogs, pizza and drinks in the presence of The King of Graffiti with additional artworks done by the Codex Inferno Art Collective. 70's/80's Funk/Soul and HipHop by DJ Turne.

Steven Ogburn started his career as a successful artist during the early '70s in New York City where he painted thousands of subway trains. Since then he has shown his artwork at many international exhibitions. During 1994 Steven was exhibited at the Groninger Museum where he was introduced to Queen Beatrix. His canvases have also appeared at the Stedelijk Museum, MOCA Los Angeles and Sotheby’s."

Sun Kil Moon aka ♥ Mark Kozelek ♥ the ex frontman from the mythical slowcore heroes Red House Painters as a new album, i loved the early Red House Painters albums, i literally drowned in Mark's imaginary figure and learned a great deal about myself with is utterly honest and detailed explanations of his emotional rollercoaster.
They split up and Mark Kozelek founded Caldo Verde records and reinvented his carrier under the moniker Sun Kil Moon which to be honest i was a never big fan, now this forth Lp is so so so good, i am extremely happy with this record because its a reminder of the early ♥ Red House Painters ♥ but also a better more mature and evolved version, its a melancholic darkly poetic river bed in which i will inevitably slowly drown again. I would say that Mark Kozelek replaced the father figure i never had on those early Red House Painter days ... thank you ...

I was a bit disappointed with myself because i could never really appreciate any of the previous Sun Kil Moon albums, "Admiral Fell Promises" is a wonderful back to back album, not a single song i don't like, and that voice ... oohhhh ... like honey dripping on my dreams

By the end of the year likely to be on my top 3 albuns of these year, Highly Recommended 10/10 Listen

One of my favorite events in the festival calendar, it all started in 2000 in a farm near Amsterdam when a bunch of friends decided to invite some bands to jam, Sleazefest took roots and become an established event around Amsterdam.
Sleazefest means dirty, noisy, vulgar, cheap but in reality is a kick ass party where Rock N Roll, Punk Rock and Garage rules and its a great place to listen and discover great new bands bands. Sleazefest is organized by the one and only zZz from Amsterdam

"The Vader Project originally premiered at Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles in May 2007. From there it traveled to Star Wars Celebration Europe in London in June 2007. July 2007 brought 10 new helmets to the Star Wars Pavilion at the famed San Diego Comi-Con International. Kelemer started the business selling Star Wars memorabilia more than 15 years ago. With The Vader Project he has finally found a way to meld both his passions. Marks divides her time between managing DKE art exhibitions and all DKE promotions including STUFFED."
