BANG!!! Berlin's number one video artist collective TRANSFORMA shredded their ass off to produce this awesome video for CLP's anthem "Bang Out".

Watch | CLP - Bang Out

Two years ago The Silent Ballet magazine and the Lost Children Net Label joined forces with the goal of providing a quarterly compilation that operated outside the boundaries of genre stereotypes, consistently promoted new and emerging artists, and released exclusive tracks into the public. Nine compilations later, we’d like to think that this venture has been a success; over one hundred artists have graciously lent a track to a compilation, the series has been downloaded over 70,000 times, and we’ve received great feedback from readers and musicians alike about discovering a new favorite band
thanks to the series.

The future looks just as bright as ever. We’re currently planning the tenth volume of the series and we do hear the demands to make these compilations available in physical form. While on one hand we do enjoy the fact that the series is 100% free and does no harm to the environment, we are currently exploring a few projects that may result in a physical CD being created at some point in the future. If there’s one thing you can count on us for, it’s being spontaneous.

As always, a big thanks goes out to all the artists and labels who made this project possible. Relevant links can be found below where your support for their music can be demonstrated. Until next time...

Cleve Gray - 1918-2004

Cleve Gray, a painter admired for his large-scale, vividly colorful and lyrically gestural abstract compositions.

Mr. Gray achieved his greatest critical recognition in the late 1960's and 70's after working for many years in a comparatively conservative late-Cubist style. Inspired in the 60's by artists like Jackson Pollock, Clyfford Still, Mark Rothko and Helen Frankenthaler, Mr. Gray began to produce large paintings using a variety of application methods - pouring, staining, sponging and other nontraditional techniques - to create compositions combining expanses of pure color and spontaneous calligraphic gestures.Cleve Gray

Nejat seems disapproving about his widower father Ali's choice of prostitute Yeter for a live-in girlfriend. But he grows fond of her when he discovers she sends money home to Turkey for her daughter's university studies. Yeter's sudden death distances father and son. Nejat travels to Istanbul to search for Yeter's daughter Ayten. Political activist Ayten has fled the Turkish police and is already in Germany. She is befriended by a young woman, Lotte, who invites rebellious Ayten to stay in her home, a gesture not particularly pleasing to her conservative mother Susanne. When Ayten is arrested and her asylum plea is denied, she is deported and imprisoned in Turkey. Lotte travels to Turkey, where she gets caught up in the seemingly hopeless situation of freeing Ayten. This is Hildur Ingveldardóttir Gudnadóttir's second solo album and her first for Touch. ['Mount A' was released on the Icelandic label '12 Tónar' in 2006.] Hildur flew so much during 2007 and 2008 that she spent alot of time staring at clouds through the airplane window, considering their appearance and formation... She says: "My aim with this record was to create a feeling of breath with a bow on string. I wanted to create a sky and cloud-like feeling in the compositions. I wanted to have open space for single notes and let them breath, like single clouds in a clear sky. As a contrast I also wanted create denser and heavier compositions which were more thundercloud like. I like the way clouds form, how many tiny droplets can form such dense forms and then slowly evaporate into thin string-like ones."

'Mount A' was an intensely solo work, composed and recorded in winter darkness, a solitary, rural affair. 'Without Sinking' was recorded in Berlin, mostly during the summer of 2008; also Hildur has collaborated with Icelandic musicians Jóhann Jóhannsson [two of his albums were released on Touch, 'Englaborn' in 2002 and 'Virthulega Forsetar' in 2004], and bassist Skúli Sverrisson. Her father, Gudni Franzson, also guests playing clarinet on two tracks here. This collaborative process is reflected in a much more open sound; there is more space and you can hear the air. Mixed by Valgeir Sigurdsson and Hildur at Greenhouse Studios Iceland, and mastered by Denis Blackham at Skye, 'Without Sinking' is a luxurious, riveting and involving piece of work. Touch Rec

Nine months of part time work gave birth to The Blackheart Gang’s acclaimed short film called, The Tale of How. The Tale of How is the second part of a trilogy of works called the Dodo Trilogy. It is to later be flanked by The Tale of Then and The Tale of When. The Dodo Trilogy, in turn, fits into a much greater work called, The Household. In the The Tale of How we meet a giant octopus with a tree growing in his head, the terror of the Indian ocean , OTTO THE MONSTER! His lonley past time is to devour the innocent dodo’s who lived on his head. We then see the dodo’s unite and with the help of a little white mouse, we saw them escape the clutches of the terrible be-tentacled tyrant and sail off into the sunset on their mother the tree.

The Tale of How consists out of a series of 13 prints and a short animated film.

The Rape of Europa tells the epic story of the systematic theft, deliberate destruction and miraculous survival of Europe’s art treasures during the Third Reich and the Second World War.

In a journey through seven countries, the film takes the audience into the violent whirlwind of fanaticism, greed, and warfare that threatened to wipe out the artistic heritage of Europe. For twelve long years, the Nazis looted and destroyed art on a scale unprecedented in history. But young art professionals as well as ordinary heroes, from truck drivers to department store clerks, fought back with an extraordinary effort to safeguard, rescue and return the millions of lost, hidden and stolen treasures.

The Rape of Europa begins and ends with the story of artist Gustav Klimt’s famed Gold Portrait, stolen from Viennese Jews in 1938 and now the most expensive painting ever sold.

Today, more than sixty years later, the legacy of this tragic history continues to play out as families of looted collectors recover major works of art, conservators repair battle damage, and nations fight over the fate of ill-gotten spoils of war.

Joan Allen narrates this breathtaking chronicle about the battle over the very survival of centuries of western culture.

Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and from the creators of “Band of Brothers”, The Pacific is a a 10-part HBO mini-series which tells the intertwined stories of three Marines, Robert Leckie (played by James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda), during America’s battle with the Japanese in the Pacific during World War II.

Produced on a budget of more $150 million, and shot on location in Australia, the series follows (from an early press release) “The extraordinary experiences of these men and their fellow Marines take them from the first clash with the Japanese in the haunted jungles of Guadalcanal, through the impenetrable rain forests of Cape Gloucester, across the blasted coral strongholds of Peleliu, up the black sand terraces of Iwo Jima, through the killing fields of Okinawa, to the triumphant, yet uneasy, return home after V-J Day . Inglourious Basterds,The Silver Screen, Suddenly last Summer,Sweet Bird of Youth,The Thomas Crown Affair,Brief Encounter,The Duchess,Un Conte de Noël

Inglourious Basterds is an upcoming ensemble war film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. The director has repeatedly stressed that despite it being a war film, the movie will be a "spaghetti-western but with World War II iconography". It has the largest cast of characters (with speaking roles) of any Tarantino film to date and was filmed in several locations, among them Germany and France. Tarantino plans to complete production of Inglourious Basterds in time for release at the Cannes.

Inglourious Basterds begins in German-occupied France, where Shosanna Dreyfus (M?lanie Laurent) witnesses the execution of her family at the hand of Nazi Colonel Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz). Shosanna narrowly escapes and flees to Paris, where she forges a new identity as the owner and operator of a cinema.

Elsewhere in Europe, Lieutenant Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) organizes a group of Jewish soldiers to engage in targeted acts of retribution. Known to their enemy as "The Basterds," Raine's squad joins German actress and undercover agent Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) on a mission to take down the leaders of The Third Reich. Fates converge under a cinema marquee, where Shosanna is poised to carry out a revenge plan of her own...

To finish my cinematic weekend today i went to the cinema and watch a 1945 David Lean movie.

Brief Encounter is based on a short play by Noel Coward entitled Still Life. Set entirely within a railway station, it follows a brief but passionate affair between two married people. Most of the events occur off-stage and we learn about them through post-facto conversation. The structure is linear: it begins when Mrs. Laura Jesson and Dr. Alec Harvey first meet (he helps remove a smut from her eye) and ends at their final goodbye. Adapting the play for the screen, director David Lean and Coward (along with co-writer Anthony Havelock-Allan) have materialized those off-stage moments. We see Laura’s pleasant but turgid domestic life. Her husband (Cyril Raymond) hardly notices her as he absently agrees with everything she says. We also witness the affair itself. It starts slowly and builds gradually through a series of chance encounters and meetings that are at once rapturous and chaste. Images Journal

Georgiana Spencer became Duchess of Devonshire on her marriage to the Duke in 1774, at the height of the Georgian period, a period of fashion, decadence, and political change. Spirited and adored by the public at large she quickly found her marriage to be a disappointment, defined by her duty to produce a male heir and the Duke's philandering and callous indifference to her. She befriends Lady Bess but finds she is once again betrayed by her husband who wields his power with the three eventually living uncomfortably together. Against this background, and with the pressures of an unfaithful husband, strict social pressures and constant public scrutiny, Georgiana falls passionately in love with Charles Grey, a rising young Whig politician. However, despite his ongoing liaison with Lady Bess, the Duke refuses to allow her to continue the affair and threatens to take her children from her. Written by johnno.r

Arnaud Desplechin's film Un Conte de Noel (A Christmas Tale), playing in competition here at Cannes, is a tragically comic tale of love, death, and familial strife and forgiveness. The film centers around Junon (Catherine Deneuve) and her husband Abel (Jean-Paul Roussillon), whose oldest child, Joseph, is diagnosed at a young age with Burkitt's lymphoma.

A beautifully-cast, tragic-comic ensemble piece in which an extended family gathers for the title holiday, Arnaud Desplechin’s A Christmas Tale is an intricate, accomplished patchwork of sometimes nutty but always believable human behaviour.

Lengthy but never dull, this lively tale is sufficiently engrossing to interest even those who don’t usually go for Desplechin’s frank and discomfiting approach to interpersonal and intergenerational relationships. Screen Daily

“symptoms” is agf and delay's musical reality check for a world turned upside-down. woven into a fine net from full beats, dubby textures, and tiny digital sound gimmickry, the twelve songs try to come to terms with the level of awareness and the apparently limited possibilities of mankind's development. an album that is both catchy and challenging pop music for the 21st century.

This is an online companion project for the upcoming Antonioni double CD release entitled "Michelangelo Antonioni - Trilogy And Epilogue" (and/34), and is intended to serve as a general homage. The works featured on this project were solicited via public invitation. The artists were given free license to create work inspired by the late great film director, however out of all the submissions sent, only the ones featured here were chosen. Both the CD and online projects were planned and initiated (in June, 2007) three months before his passing in September of the same
year, thereby making the launching of both projects all the more timely and poignant...
Even though the courtesy of giving people a chance to download and listen to each track is given, it is highly suggested that the entire release be downloaded and listened to in its proper order, so that the intended flow can be experienced.

Seeland was formed by Tim Felton (ex Broadcast) and Billy Bainbridge (ex Plone) in the winter of 2004/05 amid the fallout from Birmingham's 'Retro Futurist Electronic scene' – a group of musicians and artists inspired by space age pop, the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Joe Meek and eccentric 60's library music.
