Black box Red - Battle The Sparrows EP

This week got on my mail a super cool present, the new EP from the Leeuwarden North of Holland dance punk duo of guitarist punk at heart Eva van Netten and the insanely good drummer Stefan Woudstra, i was quite happy to hear that who ever recorded the ep had the good sense to capture their super energetic spirit that after all is the band trade mark signature, all the way a excellent ep that will please for sure fans of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Blood Red Shoes ... One of my favorites in Holland and live are super HOT HOT, highly recommended *****

Dirty Beaches – Lone Runner Video and Holland mini tour

AMAZING new video that makes justice to Dirty Beaches the one man dark lo-fi rockabilly from Montreal hauntingly beautiful music.
A simple concept video that gets you hooked on your screen till the last second and the more the story is revealed the more addictive the song becomes with claps, intense guitar strikes and brutal shouts that create a cloud of despair with a bloody poetic epilogue.

Lone Runner is taken from the upcoming EP “Stye Eye” 7″ out 18 November on Suicide Squeeze.

Sylvain Chauveau news, Bandcamp and Rewire Festival Den Haag 4 November

One of my favorite contemporaneous modern classical composers the French born and Brussels based Sylvain Chauveau as now most of his impressive discography on bandcamp, most of it for really bargain prices that you can decide to buy or not after listening and directly for the artist. A new album and several collaborations were already announced and more Sylvain Chauveau wonders should be out soon.

T.r.a.s.h. - Safe Absence, Humanoid Trilogy Episode 2

Safe Absence (Promo) from trashdanceweb on Vimeo.

" In Safe Absence six seductive women personify the themes of longing, sin and penance.

This second episode of Humanoid Trilogy explores what being a woman really means and represents this in atmosphere and mood. Carnival-like scenes in a surreal landscape, accompanied by intense live music, lead to extreme physicality between reality and trance."

Ringo Deathstarr 05 March @ Irrational Library Patronaat Haarlem

Ringo Deathstarr was a foking show, loud and noisy as f.ck, it was smashing.
Despite all the tec problems it was a blast, Elliot was trying to get sound but is guitar was dead, nothing was happening, someone brought a cable and reconnect pedals and amplifier and the sound came back with loads and loads of feedback, Elliot said to the sound guy, please can u make it louder ? there was a strident sound crawling the café and Elliot faced the public again: " Sorry, we are touring and this is the best we can do" and then BANG there was magic in the air !!!!! The audience went completely crazy, hectic jumping and shouting and incredibly part of the show, i was on stage banging on the tambourine, there was a dude playing bass and also saw lorelei on stage singing with Elliot the amazing Ringo frontman. EPIC !!!!!!! Probably one of the best concerts i've seen in Patronaat since Dutchess Says ... and if you no what that means !!!!! it was the best birthday present ever !!!!!

Ringo Deathstarr left a trail of love and noise in Europe and they are coming back around summer time ...

listen in full to their amazing dedut album "Colour Trip" here

Ps. The girl in white, Lorelei is a friend of mine and it looks like she's one Ringo's Deathstarr :)

The Irrational Library "Christmas Crapshoot VII"

Irrational Library is a night in Haarlem organized by the enigmatic Joshua Baumgarten, some know him as the awesome cooker or the beard Rabi, i know him as the dude that always puts some rad music nights in Haarlem.
Tonight started with the awesome Cello by Bonno Lange and the fantastic Dancer Sophia Maria Kienhuis and finished with the sensational Haarlem punk outfit "De Aanslag", in the middle played synth prog "Treasure of Grundo" and "Die Chord und Discord" which i believe to be a Indie/Post Rock crossover.

The electrifying De Aanslag have announced the released lp party in the fabulous Phoenix 13 next february !!!!! Hell Yeahhhh !!!!
