Fenster live @ Goethe-Institut Amsterdam 15 May 2012
Have tons of good memory's about this night, great band, building, wine, friends and it was relaxed, laid back, fresh and luckily not another boring vintage party that seems to be drowning Amsterdam out of reality, anyway we had all the good stuff that really matters in one go. Spotted the Berlin based chamber dark-pop trio Fenster on Subbacultcha's mail, the concert took place in a superb Baroque room with magical views to the front canal and back garden all served with really cheap and good wines at the Goethe-Institut. The concert was delayed because unfortunately the band got robbed of some of their possession while unloading their gear and that sucks big time. Despite this incident the band was motivated and they were absolutely tremendous, it looked like all the sunshine that seems to have disappeared from Amsterdam was now all inside that room, i never heard anything from the band until that day except for a two track EP but i was seriously blown away with their creative energies and also simplicity, Fenster is poetic, dreamy and just like a surreal theatrical play where you get dragged by its minimal but strong percussion rhythms surrounded by silky voices, echoes, melting bass lines and layers of gentle guitar. Fentser live is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and the band debut LP Bones is now out on Morr records and here you can STREAM the whole album cause is seriously cool.

No Age @ The OT301 Amsterdam 7 April

No Age live is also some sort of orgasm, a wild and violent too !!!
There were Women/Men/Shoes/Beer and all sorts of strange objects flying around the 301, all this madness was happening just a few inches from the band ... im quite surprised that no one crushed with none of the No Age.
Apart from the awesome crowd madness but well behaved much respect how they handle the situation, The freaking awesome drummer Dean Spunt spoke several times with the excited and very sweaty crowd to be careful with their heads and genitals.
Basically was the concert of the year ... i got a lot to concerts but this was from another planet, extraordinary entertainment.
Hats off for the Subbacultcha team for bringing such a awesome band to a small venue ... after all these bands belong here, if these concert would have taken place in the Paradiso or at the Melkweg i think half of the wonder of this was gone.
Also really liked the opening band These Foreign Kids , Dutch duo that make a sounds that combines Death From Above and Sonic Youth ...

Sun Araw and Prince Rama @ the Nieuwe Anita Amsterdam
Vey cool subbacultcha evening last night in the Nieuwe Anita, Sun Araw and Prince Rama are two experimental, psychedelic almost tribal bands, Prince Rama performance was exceptional good, at some point at this impression that i was in a ancient Aztec ritual, the Gods were being summon and at any moment someone was going to be sacrificed, brilliant and intense stuff.

The Scottish band Mogwai performs an incandescent show in front of a stunned crowd. As if time stood still, the audience is transported along by musical waves, both poetic and violent. 'Burning' dives into this wild sensual flow. Directors Vincent Moon and Nathanaël Le Scouarnec guide us into a dream where there is no tomorrow. This is a black and white experience of the senses carved by the raw emotion of this pioneering band that doesn't need any words to touch the heart of its listeners. Layered and innovative, the movie has its finger firmly on their pulse, a sonic adventure between hope and rebellion. A lifetime of feelings in just one night.

Future by Design is about the life story of Jacque Fresco. Jacque can be best described as a selftaught futurist. He describes himself most often as a “generalist”- meaning, a multidisciplinarian, a student of many inter-related fields. His areas of focus and interest span many disciplines: architecture, technology, systems engineering, urban planning, sociology, psychology, history, aerospace/airplane design, automobile and boat design, transportation systems such as monorail and mag-lev trains, materials science, etc.He is a prolific inventor, having spent his entire life conceiving of and devising inventions on various scales which entail the use of innovative technology.
